Want to combine sport, solidarity and respect for the environment in the Grand Parc de Miribel Jonage? In Vaulx-en-Velin, the Eco-Run des Cardons offers 4 events (trail of 5, 11 and 22 km, Nordic walking 11 km and 1 km kids’ race) in a natural setting accessible to everyone, with no cups at aid stations and a commitment to the park and associations. Come run with family or friends and support 7 Sommets against Disease.
Do you want to combine environmental impact ♻️, charity 🎗️ and running ? 👟 The Eco-Run of Cardons is here for you! We meet you in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, in Vaulx-en-Velin in the heart of the Rhône. It’s just a stone’s throw from the capital of the Gauls 🐓 where you’ll start! Close to the city of Lyon, between the Northeast of Lyon and the department of the Ain, you’ll find the Grand Parc de Miribel Jonage 🌳. This sporting and family event will introduce you to its lake and surroundings, a favorite among city dwellers on sunny days ☀️. For its 6th edition, the race returns in early May and we’re hoping for good spring weather! 🌸
The 4 events on offer will take you further or closer into this preserved nature 🌿. Three trail routes of 5 km, 11 km and 22 km are announced, but no major inclines! 🥰 You’ll get to enjoy the pleasure of running on trails and through the forest 🌲 without overstraining your calves 😂. For the less athletic, a walk is organized: a Nordic walk for 11 km timed ⏱️ will follow the same course as the runners. And because the organizers really thought of everyone, the children 🧒 will have their own race format on 1 km! But we’ll talk about the kids’ event a bit later 😉. In the Fontanil Beach 🏖️, starting point and finish for the events, the vibe will be at its peak! 🥳 The Eco-Run of Cardons (ERC for short) is an event that makes it possible to do good deeds 😁, in addition to running and taking care of yourself 🏃
The route after treading the tarmac 🛣️, the trails, paths and cycling paths 🚴, you’ll finally be able to rest and wander through the park lanes 🦆. If you have a bit of energy left 🔋, you can head to the Atol (not the opticians, lol 😂), a park space dedicated to sports 🏋️ and relaxation 💆♂️ with a large number of facilities ! 🏘️ A day (or even a weekend 👀), packed with family activities or with friends! 👨👩👧👦 If you’re local, or just passing through in April, we suggest checking out the Déci'Run! Indeed, this year a challenges intercourses has emerged, offering you a double challenge 😎. La Virée de l'Est may suit all types of runners, so if you love short distances, the pack 10" will be perfect and for the more adventurous, the pack 20" will be ideal! You get the idea, this number refers to the miles of the events you’ll run at each edition 😝.
With all these worthy causes behind us, you’ll surely find a reason to start the Eco-Run of Cardons! 🤓
