About this event
Monaco Run Gramaglia offers in February in the principality of Monaco a range of 4 timed courses: an urban trail, a nature trail and two road races (5 km and 10 km), plus a charity walk and a kids’ race. Ideal for chasing records or enjoying a sporty weekend on the Côte d’Azur, between Nice and Italy, with views of the French Riviera and the Monaco coastline.
Races, an urban trail and a nature trail in the city/state/principality of Monaco 🇲🇨, it's the perfect combination, isn't it? 👑 Well, if you too have seen Les Tuche 🍿 (as any true French person would!) and, like Cathy, you fell in love with the city of the Grimaldi, it's time to pack your suitcase 🧳. Especially since you have plenty of choice: Monaco Run Gramaglia 🏃♂️ offers 4 races (1 urban trail, 1 nature trail and 2 road races – 5km and 10 km), a race for the children, as well as a charity walk 🫶. So, whether you're a go-getter wanting to beat your records ⌚️, an amateur runner 👶 or a good Samaritan, we'll meet you in February next in the second smallest country in the world 🤏 (2 km²), nestled on the Côte d'Azur ☀️, between Nice and Italy! 😍
The Monaco Athletic Federation offers 4 timed courses of 12 km (urban trail with 418 mD+), 10 km and 5 km as well as the latest addition, a nature trail of 30 km. The races of 5 km and 10 km, ideal for setting records, are considered among the fastest in the world 🚀😮. Speaking of which, note that the 2023 edition featured the performance of the French athlete Jimmy Gressier, who ran the 5 km 🏋️♀️ in just 13 minutes and 12 seconds, becoming the new European record holder 🇪🇺 for that distance. For reference, the previous record was held by Italian Yeman Crippa (13 minutes and 14 seconds). The Frenchman managed to surpass it by running at an average speed of... 22.73 km/h ! 🐇 All that! You could try to steal the medal... If you can! 😂 For women, it’s the Frenchwoman Cassandre Beaugrand who made headlines at the 2025 edition by breaking the French record in 14’53’min 🏅.
If you’re looking for another challenge, you can also opt to take part in the "City Trail 12 km" or the "10 km official", which involves doing twice ✌️ the 5 km loop 🔁. Or you can inaugurate Monaco Run’s latest addition: the "Trail du Mont Agel". It stretches for 30 km and offers 1 509 mD+, the perfect chance to visit the heights of the principality 🤴 and soak in a view of the French Riviera 🌊. For locals, the Mont Agel ⛰️ isn’t just another peak 🙅♂️. First, it offers several spectacular viewpoints 👀 over the towns of Beausoleil, Roquebrune-Cap-Martin and Gorbiobut also because it holds a strategic historical position in the region’s history, since the Antiquity. To this day, it houses air defense installations ✈️, built as part of the Maginot Line 😳.
But if you want to shake off the pressure of competition, you can also opt for the charity walk the charity walk Pink Ribbon Walk! 🩷 This walk, 5 km long, supports the association Pink Ribbon Monaco 🤝 which is dedicated to fighting breast cancer 🎗. Truly, there will be some notable people in the Principality that day (perhaps even the royal family itself 😜).
We’re not counting on the presence of the prince Albert or the Princess Charlene. Instead, we bet you’ll have a fantastic time at the Monaco Oceanographic Museum 🐬, created by the foundation Albert I, the “savant navigator prince” 🤓. The museum/aquarium/lab, which was run for more than 30 years by the famous Commandant Cousteau, houses over 6 000 fish specimens and 300 invertebrate families on 6 000 m² of public exhibition 🦀. Indeed, you’ll learn that the principality is a major marine biology research hub! You won’t be surprised to discover that there are many clubs focused on aquatic activities: scuba diving 🫧 (yes, even in February), sailing, swimming, freediving... 🤿
But hey, we know you’re a runner! 🏃 You love the land, and you especially love staying on it! 😂 So, instead, we suggest you visit the old town, the Princely Palace, the parks ⛲️, the gardens or admire the Sovereign’s car collectionyou can also try your luck at the Casino de Monte-Carlo 🤑, between two hikes to La Turbie or to Èze (but remember to tread lightly
