If you’ve always dreamed of playing knight of the Round Table, we’ve found your quest ⚔️. Head to Port Talbot, in the heart of the Neath Port Talbot in south Wales, for the Dragon Ride: the legendary cyclosportive that will wake the warrior inside you 💪. Or at least make you grimace up the hills 😅. Ditch the stereotypes about British weather... well, not completely—bring a windbreaker nonetheless 💨. But get ready above all to take on an event that needs no introduction: valleys of lush greens, steep climbs, wild nature, and that unique Celtic vibe where every summit seems to guard a long-forgotten legend 🧙.

The event offers four races : each dragon its own flying distance 🪽. The "Cymru Classic" gives you a superb Welsh journey in 98 km and 1 354 mD+, perfect if you want to enjoy the scenery AND roll back home without being too wiped. If you feel a bit more up for it, the "Medio Fondo" represents the perfect balance between challenge and pleasure with 157 km and 2 223 mD+ 😎. For those chasing the big thrill of long distances, the "Gran Fondo" is made for you: 215 km and 3 350 mD+, enough to fill an entire day and still have the next two on the couch with sore legs 😂. And then there’s the "Dragon Devil" 😈, 296 km and 4 433 mD+, reserved for the wildest cyclists 🤯. The climbs offer no respite: moors, dense forests, alpine-looking panoramas—stunning... and inevitably a final nasty hill right when you thought you could catch your breath 😬. Welsh roads love to do that; it’s their sense of humor. The sea breeze can also crash the party and turn a flat section into an unpressured time trial ⏱️. By the way, fellow race veterans: the needles are now turning the other way, your dream descents will become your worst nightmares 👿. You can see why the race is now called the "Devil". But remember one thing while riding: you’re on the roads of the Grand Départ du Tour de France 2027, which will crest the summit of the mount Rhigos in the mont Rhigos in the massif de Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), on the 3rd stage from Welshpool to Cardiff🤓. You therefore have the honor of opening the road for the pros 🎖️.

You’ve tamed the dragon, retrieved your precious pass 🏆, and now your legs walk like a penguin 🐧. No way to head straight to bed—well, yes, but after enjoying the corner. Start with a walk on Aberavon Beach: the sea won’t mind if you limp a little 🌊. If your eyes still crave height, unlike your legs, climb to the Mynydd Margam to take in a breathtaking panorama over the valley. Are you traveling with family? Head to Margam Country Park for a well-deserved bucolic pause 🦌, to remind yourself that cycling isn’t the only thing life has to offer. And to finish off in style, push on to the Gnoll Estate in Neath to debrief your feat over a good local pint or a hot tea ☕.
