Welcome to Nîmes (or Nemausus), as the Romans would say 🤓) and step into the arena with this Urban Trail also known as “NUT”! 🏟️ The capital of the Gard department in Occitanie, offers 5 distances, including kids’ races, for an extraordinary guided tour through this famous gallo-roman city 🏛️: a hike of 10 km and four 10 km trails with 10 km and 320 mD+, 16 km and 480 mD+, 24 km and 650 mD+ and 42 km and 1 100 mD+, all in one day in February ❄️. Inspired by pioneer Lyon Urban Trail, this 12th edition southern edition 😎 invites you to discover the city and its little-known corners 🤩.

The Roman heritage of this city dates back to the 2nd century BC when the Romans conquered southern Gaul and created Nîmes, which was initially one of the largest colonies and functioned as a fortified city ⚔️. The city is thus built like Roman towns: two perpendicular streets crossing at the center where the forum sits, right in the middle of it 📍. Okay, enough history books 📚—time to lace up your running shoes 👟, but you’ll admit the origin of this city is fascinating! 👀 The start and finish take place in the fabulous Nîmes Arenae 😍 which, as in the past, host international events 🌎, such as concerts (David Guetta, Daft Punk 🪩 and many more), sporting events (including the handball in a wild atmosphere!) and charity events such as the Telethon 🎗️ in 2008! 🎭
