Ce défi hors norme t'emmène évoluer exclusivement sur la glace. Le North Pole Marathon, surnommé avec justesse le "World's Coolest Marathon", te propulse au mythique pôle Nord géographique pour une épreuve complètement folle. L'expédition estivale débute par une spectaculaire navigation à travers les glaces à bord d'un navire brise-glace hybride ultra-moderne. L'organisation maintient la distance reine de 42,195 km .
La difficulté principale ne réside absolument pas dans le dénivelé, le parcours affichant un très plat 0 mD+, mais plutôt dans les conditions climatiques extrêmes 😬. Même en plein été, le mercure flirte avec les températures négatives et le terrain s'avère particulièrement instable, alternant entre poudreuse et glace vive. Ton équipement thermique joue un rôle capital pour préserver ta chaleur corporelle tout au long de l'effort. Seuls quelques centaines de finishers ont franchi cette ligne d'arrivée depuis la création de l'événement en 2003, inscrivant ainsi leur exploit au prestigieux livre des records. L'équipe encadrante veille jalousement sur chaque participant au milieu de ce désert blanc immaculé 😌.
