At stake, two choices: either a 5-day adventure, or a marathon. For the adventure: 5 stages of running, cold and admiration 🤩. The Northern Light Ultra lays out a route on a arctic ice road, under the northern lights 🌈. You can do it on foot or on ski, your choice! So prepare your March with a ticket for the northwest of Canada 🇨🇦. This sky running journey starts at Fort McPherson 📍, with a route of 290 km along the river Peel River. Pro tip: pack the warmest gear 🧣, because the forecast looks cool in the midst of the snow ❄️. Even if it seems impossible, temperatures can drop down to -44°C… 🥶 For your gear, remember it will follow you during the race, so get your sled ready 🛷 to pack things properly.

There are plenty of kilometers to cover, but they’re powered by gifts from the sky 🌌. So yes, we recommend you to sleep at night, but also to watch the gorgeous northern lights during your journey 😻. In a multi-day format, this event offers you a packed lineup 📆. Day one, be mindful of the temperature, which can surprise you 😟. But if you’re properly equipped, things will go smoothly! ⭐️ After checking your gear, it’s time to race 🏃. Start from Fort McPherson, for 48 km toward the north ⬆️. After a first night in your tent, we hope you won’t be frozen, but rather ready to go again ⚡️. The second stage will be 55 km and will take you along the Peel River. For day 3 you’ll have 45 km to reach the historic town of Aklavik 📍. Rest well for the penultimate challenge, where mental will be your best friend 💕. Yes, 100 km are on the agenda, making this 4th day the longest stage of the program. The final night under the Canadian stars ✨, where it’ll be great to look up at the sky to see its lovely gifts 🎁.

One more stop, right? Don’t rush, we’re on our way 🤓. For the final challenge: The Northern Lights Marathon, with its 42 km, it’s known for being certainly the coldest ☃️, but also the flattest in the world 😳. Small quirk: you can choose to participate only in this last leg if you wish! 😜 Perfect for those who want to enjoy the adventure on a smaller scale 🤏. The finish of these last kilometers will be at Univik. It’s time to catch your breath and congratulate each other for this adventure 👏.

Northern lights, snow, trails—everything you could want! 💐 This space holds real, lasting memories in the heart of nature. Even if you’re on one of the country’s most remote lands 😳, you’ll still be among the most beautiful 🤩. The Univik region is a true wonderland in winter. Its sky illuminations offer some arctic landscapes unique and memorable 💭. Aklavik, as we’ve said, will be your finish line for day 3. There you’ll discover a tiny village, of about 550 inhabitants 🧍‍♂️. Indeed, the neighbors aren’t very numerous… Otherwise, just at the start of Fort McPherson a monument visit will immerse you in the local history 🏛️. For maximum immersion, we suggest trying the “ Bannique ”, which defines it well since it’s also called the “ traveler’s bread ” 🧳. If you taste it with a berry jam, you’ll delight your taste buds with flavors! 🫐
