Le Département des Anciens Combattants du comté d’Oceana organise chaque année une course de 5 km au Getty Park, dans le centre-ville de Shelby. Le parcours longe Industrial Drive et le sentier Hart-Montague. Cet événement constitue la principale collecte de fonds de l’OCDVA ; l’intégralité des recettes est reversée aux anciens combattants locaux afin de financer leur transport vers leurs rendez-vous médicaux, l’approvisionnement des banques alimentaires et d’autres services essentiels.
