Located on the northern coastline between Fnideq and Martil, the Tamuda Bay Eco Triathlon brings together swimming, cycling, and running across four distinct formats, from the 100 km Experience to the Sprint. The events unfold in the Tamuda Bay and are part of an eco-friendly approach with 10 sustainable measures. Accessible to all levels, this Moroccan event offers a sporting immersion and landscapes of Morocco to discover.
The Tamuda Bay Eco Triathlon is an event straight from Morocco! 🇲🇦 It brings together the three flagship endurance disciplines: swimming, cycling and running! 😎 And of course, as tradition would have it, they are back-to-back. To give participants a wide range of challenges, the event offers 4 races! The first one is the "100 km Experience" : 2 km of swimming followed by 80 km of cycling then 18 km of running 💪. For the second one, we start with an "Olympic Triathlon" : 1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling and 10 km of running. As you’ve guessed, that’s the Olympic distance 🏅. Next up is the "Jbala Tri", for those who prefer running to cycling with its 1.5 km of swimming, 35 km of cycling and 11 km of running ⛰️. And finally for the speedy, there is the "Sprint" (of course!) : 750 m of swimming, 20 km of cycling and 5 km of running! 🏃♀️
Yes, this event remains affordable for everyone, and that’s exactly the aim! Athletes from all over the world come to take part to discover the little paradises of the North of Morocco, through the Mediterranean and the Rif mountains 🗻. To help you place it on the map: the Tamuda Bay Eco Triathlon sits on the coast North, between the towns of Fnideq and Martil. These towns lie southeast of the Gibraltar Strait 🗺️. They are home to many local fishermen 🎣. Since March 2010, the town has been painted blue and white. Its long promenade is a great place to run 👟. A key note about the TBET : its goal is to make this event as eco-friendly as possible ♻️. This is achievable thanks to 10 eco-friendly and sustainable measures. With them, you won’t risk marring the scenery or region and you’ll be taking part in green acts too 👍.
The dates are, too, ideal. Mid-May allows winter temperatures to rise a bit 📈 while avoiding the sweltering heat of summer 🥵. Additionally, the swimming leg will refresh you and keep you at your best before you hop on your bike 🚴♀️. The swimming events take place in the Tamuda Bay, within the territory of the Prefecture of M’diq-Fnideq. After impressing all the fish with your best crawl 🏊♀️, you’ll hop on your bike and explore the mountains surrounding the Asmir dam 🏞️. There, honestly, you’ll be wowed (only the runners of the Jbala Tri go through the mountains, the other routes run along the coast). All triathlons have their own quirks just waiting to be discovered! 🤩
