Stow your steed in the box and get your legs ready for a grand historic pilgrimage into the realm of running! 🏃 In September, we invite you to pledge to an extraordinary challenge in the heart of the ancient province of Languedoc, at the border between Aude and the Pyrénées-Orientales ⛰️. For this grand premiere named EL 1258 - La Frontière, the HOROS association and the club Objectif D+ join forces with FFRandonnée to offer you a regal course 👑. The concept is simple but imperial: walk and run along the demarcation line of the Treaty of CorbeilKingdom of France from the Crown of Aragon for over four centuries 🤩. Let speed enthusiasts rethink it, the clock isn’t king here! ❌ The event is defined as a human adventure halfway between trail and ultra-hiking sport, where the sovereignty of effort blends with sharing and respect for the wild nature 🌳.

To preserve the crown of greenery the traversed territories hold, the event lord has limited it to 300 valiant knights per ordeal ⚔️. On these trails, no carriage for sweeping, no serfs to hand you a glass of water in the scrub: participants will move with full autonomy, with no temporary ground markings or resupply posts 🍗. It’s a true modern chivalry quest where you must govern your effort and master your GPS with a masterful hand to avoid getting lost in a distant land 🧭. Two grand conquest formats await you. The crown jewel trial, the Experience 50K, offers a ride of 55 km linking the village of Vingrau to the fortress of Salses-le-Château, with a solemn midnight start under the starry vault 🌌. For vassals preferring a shorter but equally technical option, the "Discovery" will greet you on its 27 km from the village of Feuilla 📍. Both routes traverse the GR® de Pays de l'Ancienne Frontière Occitano-Catalane, a rugged and rocky path that will push your footing 💥. You will pass through the towns of Opoul-Périllos, Treilles, Caves and Fitou, amid the scents of rosemary and relics of the past 🌾.

Once your expedition ends at the foot of the ramparts, there’s no retreat! 🔥 After celebrating your victory with the other court members, take time to discover this exceptional terroir 🔎. You can go conquer the ruins of the Château d'Opoul-Périllos to overlook the plain, or treat yourself to a well-deserved stop in a local winery to savor a grand cru de Fitou (moderation, the warrior’s rest is required 🍷). For lovers of wide spaces, a peaceful stroll along the banks of l'étang de Salses-Leucate will finally convince you that this territory has retained its full splendor.
