Le marathon transmanche de Penghu emmène les participants à travers l'une des baies les plus pittoresques au monde. Unique en son genre à Taïwan, cette course de type « resort » combine traversées maritimes et pérégrinations d'île en île sur un parcours unique, d'un point à un autre. Les athlètes traversent Xiyu, franchissent l'emblématique pont transmer de Penghu et courent à travers Baisha, Zhongtun et la plus grande île de Penghu. Ils parcourent également des terrains variés, allant de merveilles géologiques à des ruelles culturelles animées, tout en affrontant la puissante mousson du nord-est.
