Inaugural Philadelphia Phenoms Open Tournament

Registration

1) $85 registration fee

2) Venue-specific spectator fee (1 coach allowed per gym/athlete)

Venue

1) Spooky Nook Sports Complex (event will take place in the Fieldhouse)

2) Address: 75 Champ Boulevard, Manheim, PA, 17545

3) Event starts at 12 pm EST. In person weigh-ins 1 hour prior to event start time. 2 pound weight allowance.

Divisions

1) White/blue division (beginner)

2) Purple/brown/black division (advanced)

3) Adult (< 30 years old) and Masters (30 + years old)

Weight Classes

1) Male: 135 lbs, 155 lbs, 175 lbs, 195 lbs, 215 lbs, 215+ lbs

2) Female: 125 lbs, 145 lbs, 165 lbs, 165+ lbs

Rules

1) EBI ruleset. Submission only. No points, advantage points, or judges decisions. If no submission occurs in regulation, there will be standard EBI overtime (up to three 2-minute rounds with options of back control or spiderweb armbar starting positions). If match goes to overtime, victory will occur either by submission or fastest escape time

2) Beginner division: No slams, scissor takedowns, or jumping guard. Allowable leg locks: straight ankle lock, aoki lock, woj lock, calf slicer, toe holds. Knee reaping is allowed. All other submissions legal.

3) Advanced division: No slams, scissor takedowns, or jumping guard. All other submissions legal

4) Masters division: No heel hooks or Z-locks

5) Regulation time for all matches is 5 minutes

6) Double-elimination (at least 2 matches guaranteed)

Awards/Prizes

1) Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place athletes.
