Oskarshamn Backyard 6h propose un défi de marathon dans un format « backyard » (arrière-cour) dans la zone de loisirs de Havslätt, sur la côte baltique. Les coureurs effectuent une boucle de 6,7 km toutes les heures pendant cinq heures, suivie d'un dernier tour de 8,7 km, pour un total de 42,195 km. Le gagnant est le premier à franchir la ligne d'arrivée lors du dernier tour. Le parcours se compose principalement de sentiers forestiers avec des sections de gravier et un court tronçon d'asphalte, clairement balisés pour faciliter la navigation. Entre les tours, les participants peuvent se reposer et se ravitailler à la loge Havslätts, où de l'eau, des boissons énergétiques et des collations sont disponibles. L'événement propose également le défi unique « Däckpriset » au troisième tour, des activités familiales, notamment une course pour enfants, et une ambiance animée avec des exposants, des stands de restauration et de la musique. Avec son cadre pittoresque et son format innovant, l'Oskarshamn Backyard 6h allie esprit de compétition et esprit communautaire.
