Course au Paradis

Run through one of the most beautiful and charming corners of Slovakia! Beh v Raji (« Paradise Run ») is a human-scale nature and mountain race, highly regarded, held in the town of Stratená, located in the southern part of the Slovak Paradise National Park (Slovenský raj) 🏃🌲. Runners can choose from scenic nature routes (including the main trail distances, a Nordic Walking walk, and kid-friendly races). The course winds through resin-scented dense forests, charming valleys, and along the sinuous bed of the Hnilec River, offering fresh mountain air and a direct connection with raw nature.

After crossing the finish line and collecting your medal, the southern part of the Slovak Paradise invites you to a wonderful, nature-close rest! Set off for a gentle stroll through the Stratenský kaňon – a charming gorge of the Hnilec River with limestone cliffs, wooden footbridges and educational trail panels, perfect for recovering after the effort 🌲🌉. Visit the monumental Dobšinská Ice Cave (UNESCO) – one of the most important and spectacular ice caves in Europe, where impressive ice stalagmites and underground icebergs can be admired all year round ❄️🦇. Hike up to the viewpoint Havrania Skala, offering a panorama over the entire Slovak Paradise National Park, or head toward the mountain lake Palcmanská Maša in Dedinky, for pedal boating or kayaking ⛰️🚣.

After a full day of exertion, refuel with traditional Slovak specialties: hot bryndzové halušky with bacon, a flavorful kapustnica, or fluffy steam buns with poppy seeds and butter (Pařené buchty). To drink, a Kofola refreshing herbal note will be perfect, just like a Czech-Slovak craft beer 🧀🥓🍺
