Pups & Pastries se déroule au WakeMed Soccer Park et comprend une course canine pour les propriétaires d'animaux et leurs chiens, en soutien à Second Chance Pet Adoptions, une organisation de sauvetage d'animaux qui ne pratique pas l'euthanasie. Les participants peuvent choisir entre des courses en personne ou virtuelles de 5 km et 10 km, une partie des frais d'inscription des chiens étant reversée à l'association caritative. L'événement propose des t-shirts de course, des médailles pour les finisseurs et la possibilité de remporter des récompenses et des prix. Les chiens doivent être enregistrés et tenus en laisse, et ne sont autorisés que dans certaines courses spécifiques. L'événement vise à améliorer la forme physique des familles et le bien-être des animaux, en offrant une expérience amusante et enrichissante aux coureurs et à leurs animaux de compagnie.
