In Brittany, Plourhan hosts the Trail du Glazig, born in 2002 and which brings together more than 4000 participants. On a loop that blends fields, trails and sea views, six trails from 5 to 56 km, a Nordic walking option and a night hike follow one another, with the possibility to combine several races and a friendly two-day gathering (pasta party on the evening, lunch on Sunday). The route passes through Binic, the Godelins beach and Saint-Quay-Portrieux, for sensational landscapes despite the sometimes rainy February weather.
A run in Brittany is always something different! In Plourhan, in the Côtes-d’Armor, come zigzagging through the Trail du Glazig, a sports event created in 2002 that welcomes more than 4000 participants. Yes, it’s a huge event, you’ve been warned! It’s a seaside run 🌊 you’ll discover with some spectacular landscapes. As is often the case in Brittany (cliché yes, but true this time), the rain could show up during this already chilly February. 🙁
It started in 2002 when the Trail Glazig was added to Brittany’s race calendar; since then it’s a very popular and also friendly. The organizers invite you to a pasta party 🍝 on Saturday evening and a lunch on Sunday noon, because indeed the race takes place over two days. So on the program, six trails for all levels: the "Mini Trail" of 5 km, the "Noz Trail Découverte" of 9 km, the "Trail Découverte Ailes Marines" of 12 km, the "Noz Trail" of 19 km this time, the trail of 30 km and finally the one of 56 km. A powerwalking of 15 km as well as a night hike of 15km and a kids race, the Kinder Trail, are also planned. And since everything is well organized, you can combine several races. What a joy! 😍
You’ll start and finish your event at Plouhran: the course is in a loop. You’ll run through the fields along the countryside and its charming woods 🌳. They’re mainly wide trails underfoot, the course is rolling. Next, there’s a detour to the port of Binic, at the Plage des Godelins 🏖️ or even passages toward Saint-Quay-Portrieux on certain distances.
The playing fields will vary all the way to the finish: trails, GR34 paths, sandy, stairs and rocks. You won’t be bored, it’ll go every which way! The landscape will be fascinating at every step of your adventure. 🤩
At the finish, a small break to taste the local beer from Saint-Quay-Portrieux near the Brasserie La Nordé+ It’s a treat and a little extra happiness 👌. For sightseeing, keep chasing those landscapes and opt for the sea-water pools in town. A reason to smile! 😁
