Sport has no age limit, it’s a fact 👍 You don’t believe us? In April, head to Bondues in Hauts-de-France to take part in the Silver Steps. But what is it exactly? 🤔 Well, it’s a charity running event that proves that at 65 years and older, we still have some impressive strides 🏃.

The event is reserved for people aged 65 and over, but no worries for the younger ones! Family and friends can cheer on all the seniors 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 and make this moment convivial 🎉. The goal? Participate, share, and enjoy, with no notion of performance or ranking 🎯. Here, we celebrate movement and intergenerational solidarity! 🥳 Two routes will be offered to you ✌️: a route of about 6 km (adaptable for people with reduced mobility), and a 10 km route, both specially reserved for seniors 🎉. You can walk, run, or alternate depending on your pace and desire 🎶. The essential thing is to enjoy yourself and have a great time with the other participants ☀️.

Organized in collaboration with the Domaine des Diamants Blancs and the DigestScience Foundation, a research foundation 🔍 on digestive system diseases and nutrition, the Silver Steps are much more than just a race. It’s a true hymn to the physical activity, to healthy aging and to health prevention 🌱. Because moving is good for morale, for the body, and to create connections ! 🫶

If you want to extend the pleasure after the effort, Bondues and its surroundings hold wonderful surprises 🤩. The Resistance Museum nestled in the Fort Lobauwill take you back in time, just like the park of the Château Vert-Bois, a green oasis perfect for relaxation 🌳. A few kilometers away, the city of Lille will welcome you with its Grand’Place buzzing 🫨, its Old Lille with its cobbled streets and its belfry that towers over it 🔝. Short on words, let’s talk about gastronomy! 😋 In Nord-Pas-de-Calais, we don’t joke around when it comes to food 🍽️. To refuel after your run 💪, a multitude of options await you: carbonade flamande, sugar tart, tarte au maroilles 🧀 or another welsh. For a fun fact (and sweet-tooths), Bondues hosts the headquarters of a famous candy brand 🍬. “Which one?” you’ll ask. We’ll let you discover it 😉.
