Hear ye, hear ye 📣, ladies and gentlemen you are welcome in Brittany in the beautiful town of Vannes for the Trail des remparts de Vannes. It is during the lovely month of June that the knights are expected to roam the city in search of new places to conquer. While the sun will reign in the sky ☀️ and temperatures will be warm, you’ll have the chance to run in a region with a cooler climate. We therefore recommend choosing a lighter chainmail for this race. 🎽

Okay, shall we give you a glimpse of your Dantean program? For the bravest, two races are offered in the heart of the city, one of 7 km and the other of 15 km with a course in the form of two laps. For valiant knights coming with their children, a parent-child relay 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 with obstacle challenges in a playful course is also offered! Whether you’re a brave knight conquering kilometers, or a young squire visiting the town and soaking in the event vibe, all ranks welcome.

Let us give you a closer look at the event. You might think you’re signing up for a classic race? Think again, you’re about to explore the city’s key spots and even its restricted areas...🤫. The course consists of two laps that take you through the historic city and run in places normally off-limits to the public. Among the key sites you’ll pass are the historic center with the famous Remparts de Vannes. Not only that, although it’s mostly an urban route you’ll also pass through the Tohannic green spaces and the Kerino hillock, and pass in front of the magnificent Château-Gaillard. The course will also run along the right bank, to reach the port of Vannes by the gates of the Gulf of Morbihan, a big part of your run will also take you through nature areas. Heads up: if the race is unusual, it’s not only for the places you’ll visit but also for its course which will have you climb a few stairs but also cross a waterway—no snorkel needed, but bring a spare pair of socks. 😉

You got it, the event takes place in a festival-like vibe 🎉 to fully experience the medieval era. After your conquest, find numerous free playful and cultural activities at the race village all day. You come to run and stay to have fun—falconry 🦅, combat initiation ⚔️, face-paint stands, and a fitness course make it a true family moment you can share with your loved ones.

After the race, you can take time to tour the Gulf of Morbihan and discover its many islands. To stay in the medieval theme, we invite you to visit the Suscinio Castle. On the gastronomy side, explore oysters farming, which is the region’s main activity. For a tasty treat, try the local specialty, salted butter caramel!
