Le Ridgeway 100 est connu sous le nom de « Century to the Stones », un défi cycliste légendaire qui se déroule sur 107 km de la plus ancienne route d'Europe encore en service, au Royaume-Uni. Les athlètes peuvent choisir de parcourir la distance complète ou de se donner à fond sur des parcours plus courts d’environ 48 km et 86 km. Plus de 80 % du parcours se déroule hors route, sur du gravier compacté, d’anciennes pistes de craie et de larges chemins — un terrain idéal pour les vélos de montagne ou de gravel à la recherche de vitesse sans technicité excessive. Le parcours grimpe sur une crête surélevée à travers les Chilterns et les North Wessex Downs, offrant des vues panoramiques sur la campagne et la découverte de sites préhistoriques emblématiques. Il s’agit d’une course physiquement exigeante conçue pour les athlètes d’endurance, alliant le cyclisme tout-terrain à un rythme soutenu à la beauté des paysages historiques britanniques.
