Participants can set off on 4 km for the elves and 8 kilometers for the bravest, tackling climbs and stairs, all animated by Santa Claus. Santa Claus has come early 🦌! Your gift? The Christmas Round in Rodez, the capital of Aveyron. This Occitanie road race has become unmissable and not just because you’ll be wrapped in the magic of this unique celebration 🎄. With the cold of December no longer holding you back! Well equipped with your Christmas hat (you won’t escape it, it’s THE tradition of this race!), you’ll conquer every obstacle! 💪
On the program, the youngest can transform into a elf to run the 4 km of the Round specially arranged for the occasion. Others will have a chance to give their all on 8 kilometers during a unique Christmas round. Before leveling up with a hikethrough the streets, Rodez also hides lovely challenges! You’ll pass through some pretty tough spots and feel the lactic in your thighs as you climb stairs and brave the city hills. A trip back to childhood in the hallways of local high schools and middle schools, all decked out for the occasion, is even planned. Okay, before you receive your gifts 🎁, you’ll have to earn it! Yes, the magic of Christmas is earned! So be good! Even young aspiring athletes will get their own Christmas course. Santa Claus will be there in person to host the race! 🎅
On the sightseeing side, there’s plenty to do in Rodez. Don’t get too sidetracked by the lights, you’ll miss the Saint-Amans Church. The crossing of the Bourran Viaduct should also delight you, unless you’d rather take a little horseback ride as there aren’t the stables scarce 🐎. The village of Belcastel will offer you some beautiful markets and the Soulages Museum will be there to reveal all the artist’s secrets. Speaking of Christmas markets, there will be tastings, so grab a good slice of Roquefort or blue cheese 🧀 to reward your efforts. Beef and aligot are also there to warm you up!
