Gapen'cimes

Want a sporty family or solo stroll through wild, preserved nature 🍀? The city of Gap promises you a unique adventure across the Southern Alps in the Hautes-Alpes department, in the heart of the Provence-Alpes-C Côte-d'Azur region. The event takes place over at least one October weekend when it might feel cool 🥶, especially up high, but you’re here to suffer, right? 😁

Six distances are available to you with the Gapen'cimes, perfect for bringing together young and old, beginners and seasoned runners. On Saturday, three trails start from the Verdure theater: the Trail des enfants, the Trail rose 100% féminin of 6 km and the Trail Saint Mens of 14 km. On Sunday, starting from Charance, it’s big with the Trail des Crêtes, 26.5 km, the Trail des 3 Cols of 44 km and finally the crown jewel, the Trail Edelweiss, with its 62 km and 3 000 mD+! 🙄

All races finish at the Halle de la Blachela Pépinière in the town of Gap. Most of the routes, if not all, include an uphill section, making the courses more or less technical and demanding depending on your abilities. It’s perfect if you want to take it step by step 👣! Outside the town, it’s truly a natural paradise waiting for you. The landscapes flow together but never look the same in this immersive nature.

Very close to the Serre-Ponçon Lake, stroll through lavender fields and edelweiss, a small mountain plant shaped like a star 🌼. Then follow waterfalls and narrow gorges, take forest paths as single tracks, and discover traditional authentic villages tucked into wild mountain slopes 🗻. A altitude lover, you won’t be left behind with sections from the col de Guizière at 1649 m, from the Pic de Gleize at 2161 m and on the crête de Charance that will offer you a breathtaking panorama over the Parc National des Écrins. The autumn scenery is simply sublime. 🍁
