Looking for a reason, a goal to kick off a running race? Running not just for yourself but for a cause is memorable for you and for the charities that also work toward this action.

Run For Planet invites you to commit to the planet at a 100% eco-friendly event. In the heart of Gironde, in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, two road running routes await you to discover Bordeaux. Curious about the distances on the program? Well, you can start with a non-timed 5 km, a fun run where you set your own pace, no pressure. The other distance, 10 km, is perfect for beating your best time and giving it your all. In early June, under sunny skies, you’ll discover the wonders of our beautiful Earth on the streets of the "Sleeping Beauty". 👸

What does running for the planet really mean in concrete terms? First of all, the majority of registration fees are donated directly to the supported associations. These associations defend causes such as ocean protection with Sea Shepherd, animal welfare with L214 - Ethics and Animals or the preservation of the Earth with Planète Urgence. On top of doing your favorite sport, you’re helping protect the planet—what more could you ask for? 🤔

In fact, we have a little idea of what you might ask for more, isn’t it about where you’ll be running, by any chance? You’ll have the privilege of running along the Garonne, along the quays of Bordeaux, a promenade beloved by locals. 5 km or 10 km along the river, timed or not, short or long, for fun or to beat your record on the distance, it’s up to you to choose based on your mood and fitness. Either way, you’ll enjoy superb city panoramas overlooking the famous Place de la Bourse and its Miroir d'eau or even the largest square in Europe, Place des Quinconces. 😮

As for the pre- and post-race activities, the organizers have everything planned. And when we say everything, we really mean everything. In the event village, you’ll find a group warm-up to get you going 🦵, osteopathy sessions for all, a concert, an interactive eco-gesture quiz, a bio food-bike, a continuous musical entertainment throughout the day... In short, a truly convivial and unforgettable moment while supporting a cause that speaks to everyone. 🙌

If you’re still not convinced, know that the event implements numerous eco-friendly actions. Here there’s no classic medal in Zamak but a 100% Made in France medal made from beech wood sourced from sustainably managed forests 🌳. Then, you won’t find plastic water bottles (replaced by recycled eco-cups) or finisher T-shirts. Bibs, chips, and course markings are also reused and recycled. So convinced? 🤷

After your race, what do you say to a little tour to discover the city? To stay in the eco theme, we recommend strolling through the Darwin eco-system, where you can meet innovative projects amid street art, green shops and restaurants 🟢. On the gastronomic side you can opt for the very famous Canelés de Bordeaux or its wines even more representative of the region (to be enjoyed in moderation, of course).🍷
