Looking for a great excuse to run in your hometown? The "Run in Lyon by Harmonie Mutuelle" is THE running festival par excellence where you’ll uncover the secrets of a city rich in history and culture among thousands of runners. Yes, because the "Run In", it’s mainly a running festival held in the most beautiful cities of France 🇫🇷! This festival offers several routes so you can run according to your abilities and desires... all while discovering the beauty of our heritage! ⭐ This time, the party is in Lyon which is hosting the celebration (you sensed it 😅)! The program looks busy, emotional, and beautiful. So, ready? One, two, three... Ready? Roar Run! 🏃‍♀️

The beautiful region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes welcomes you in October, during the autumn, to help you gear up for the season of raclette, smoked sausage, and quenelles 😋. You’ll make room in your stomach by doing a bit of sport! To burn off steam, you have a choice of 4 road running routes: a marathon, a half-marathon, a 10 km and a 5 km. Note that the young runners in Lyon can also come try running at this grand event! A chance to roar with pleasure, right? 😏

But let’s dive a little deeper... The marathon is definitely the standout event of the competition 🏆. Why? Well, because it has the huge advantage of letting you explore the city from end to end, and trust us, there’s a lot to see! You’ll pass through the city’s most iconic districts, an island 🗾 and two rivers 🌊. If you’re not a marathoner at heart, you can sign up for the half marathon which will also reveal gorgeous sights. For example, you can wander the gentle paths of the famous Parc de la Tête d’Or 🌳 and stroll along the ancient pavements of the Vieux Lyon.

You’ll also be glad to know that for a new year in a row, the 10 km and the half-marathon are open to para-athletes! And the good news is that many profiles are accepted: runners in wheelchairs ♿ up to athletes with visual impairment. To continue this wonderful momentum of sharing, openness, and solidarity, note that the 5 km is a charitable race 💝. Indeed, 4€ of each bib sold will be donated to AFG Autisme. This Lyonnais association aims to support people with autism in France, especially towards athletic activities 🥵.

On one hand, it’s no surprise there’s a crowd at the starting line... The City of Lights has long been a cradle of culture, art, gastronomy, history... and of cinema! 🎬 As you know, the Lumière brothers come from the capital of Gaul. You’ll have the chance to retrace the journey of these two remarkable figures who sparked a new art 🎭.

But that’s not all! You’ll uncover the secrets of the beautiful city with its many sparkling facets 🪩. You’ll be amazed... to the point that you’ll think you’re in a "Fête des Lumières" 🤩! Like in Paris, the city features riverfronts along the Rhône and the Saône, lined with many blooming boats 💐. Like in Marseille, a beautiful building sits atop the hills of the city: the Basilique Notre-Dame de Fourvière. Like in ancient Roman towns, you’ll discover a charming old town and a vast Gallo-Roman theatre 🏺, tucked away behind the city.

Otherwise, you can always visit one of the city’s many museums, have brunch at the Croix-Rousse 📍 (the chic bohemian neighborhood), shop at Part Dieu, watch the two rivers clash at Confluence and grab a coffee at the Place Bellecour ☕️. But above all, you’ll be able to treat yourself by filling your belly at a Lyonnais bouchon 😋. Everyone knows that Lyon is the capital of French gastronomy, so treat it with honor! Finally, to digest and loosen sore muscles, you can enjoy a stroll in the famous Monts du Lyonnais ⛰️.

And to prevent your cups from ending up in the Rhône or in nature, this race has "gone green" 🌍. It aims for "zero waste" by using recycled water bottles. Organizers even set up a system to collect second-hand clothing! ♻️ Moreover, a partnership between the "Run In Lyon" and the Restos du Cœur ❤️ was created to prevent waste at aid stations! Doing good for nature while thinking of others… How can you ask for more?! 🤫
