This year, the association of CLSO (Chablais Leman Sport Organisation) is launching the Laugh Run in Lons-le-Saunier. Get your best jokes ready, we're mainly waiting for you to perform, but also to crack a smile 🤣.

And yes, you might be surprised, but La Vache qui rit is taking up sport 🐮. After all, who said it’s impossible to combine the two? What’s certain is that you’ll have rock-hard abs before the finish line. In May 🧀, head to the Jura and its famous cheese productions to visit the cow that is the most famous in France 🇫🇷. But don’t just look, your legs will be useful too 🦵. A 10 km and a 5 km on road are offered to you on the occasion and will let you enjoy a guided tour between the Maison de La Vache qui rit 🏠, the statue of Rouget de Lisle and the various prettiest lanes in town 🏙️. Our friends from Lédo_nian_s want to show you the best of the departmental capital. Even if the name of the city might not ring a bell, the town and its urban area still have 27 000 inhabitants, and attract runners from the county 🏃. For this, two distances are offered: a 5 km and a 10 km on road. Unless you want to set a PR on road, trail runners can skip it 🪨. Both routes are designed to be very rolling and perfect for a dream chrono ⏱️: only 15 mD+ and 30 mD+ are to be declared. Logical, it’s the race of La Vache qui rit, not the goat that laughs 😬. During the 5 km loop, you’ll tread the asphalt like a Formula 1 zigzagging between spectators cheering you on 🏎️. The 10 km itself consists of two loops of 5 km: one to scout the terrain and anticipate difficulties, the second to go all out and perform 💨. Since the race starts in the late afternoon, you can even enjoy the sunset 🌅.

On the side of local specialties, we hope you’re not upset with raw milk and mushrooms 🍄. The Jura is renowned for cheeses of every kind: comté, morbier, mont d’or and bleu de Gex, you’ll be nose-deep into all of it 👃. Once the running portion is over, you can continue the physical indulgences, or simply go cheer on friends lining up for the La Vache qui rit Cyclosportive. The on-road event offers several distances, organized from Friday to Sunday. You won’t see Lons-le-Saunier as lively as that weekend 👀. If you liked the area but crave more nature than asphalt 🌱, don’t hesitate to come back next year in April. You’ll find the stunning Trail des Reculées, offering distances from 11 to 55 km. Still in terms of nature, let your instincts guide you and discover the Hérisson cascades 🦔, the Lac de Chalain ⛵️, or the Vouglans Lake. In short, there’s something for every taste, and you can always swing by our bovine friend for a quick fresh cheese bite to delight your palate 👅.
