April is the best month to combine a run with a landscape discovery that springs back to life in colors 💐. And who can resist Brittany? So head to the Atlantic shores 🌊, in Plougonvelin, to race the Marathon Bleu Finistère.

The North Finistère is unforgettable. Running with the elements is the best feeling there 🥰. In Plougonvelin, this is exactly what organizers from the association “ Enfants de l’océan” offer for this road race. Three distances are on the program 💪. For smaller appetites, the “ 10 km Kaluen ”. For the tougher ones, the “ Semi-Marathon Bleu Guyot Environnement ”. And finally for the hungriest: the “ Marathon Bleu Finistère ”. And there’s also a children’s race named the “ Kilomètre Bleu ”.

Your journey begins… in shuttle to reach the big start. For the 10 km, you’ll depart from Ploumoguer to run along the coast. You’ll pass through Le Conquet and arrive at the Saint-Mathieu Lighthouse. It’s paradisiacal 😍 ! For the half marathon, you’ll start from Lampaul-Plouarzel to Run with the Iroise Sea and the coast of legends as a backdrop. For the marathon, the flagship event (of course 😉!), you’ll begin your 42,195 km from the anchor of the Amoco Cadiz. You’ll have the great chance to run on a pontoon at Lanildut, to have the wind as an ally before unleashing your best sprint on the 300 m on shore and cobblestones to reach the lighthouse. Each time, you’ll enjoy an unobstructed view of the island of Ouessant 🏝️ and the Crozon Peninsula.

The Breton coast must be protected and this Marathon Bleu Finistère falls under the coastal protection initiative. The event has a eco-responsible commitment ♻️ to raise awareness among participants but also the local population and tourists. By the marathon village

After the race, the places to stroll are as numerous as they are exceptional 🤩 : the Fort de Bertheaume, the Petit Minou lighthouse at Plouzané, the Plage des Blancs Sablons and Brest with its port and its National Maritime Museum await discovery! Finally, for gastronomy, the cotriade— a Brittany Finistère specialty. 😋
