The start is in Cancale with free shuttle options from Saint-Malo, and the finish takes place on the Sillon beach after 3 km of a final sprint. A striped shirt sea breeze, does that spark your interest? Then set sail and head to Ille-et-Vilaine, under the late-summer warmth of August 🌞 to kick off the Semi-Marathon Cancale-Saint-Malo. A refreshing race along the coast 🌊 to uncover all the secrets of the Emerald Coast. Ready? 🏃♂️
There are always eternal undecideds among the runners, but this time, only one distance is offered 👆 for this sublime "land and sea"! This road race is a legendary "city to city" of Brittany and welcomes thousands of participants each year.. The start is given in Cancale, where there is an oyster market that will make you drool 🤤. Great news if you want to save energy before the race: free shuttle buses will drop you at the start line from Saint-Malo. They’re strong, these Bretons! 😎
After the start, you’ll run facing the blue of the sea as far as the eye can see 🌊. You’ll be treading onlytarmac (with almost no elevation), but the scenery will be spectacular with the sea on one side and fields and greenery on the other 😍. You’ll cross several remarkable sites in the region such as Saint-Coulomb or the La montée du Lupin. La pointe du Grouinwhich is also a beautiful hiking spot 🚶♂️ for the boldest, and the Verger and Guesclin beaches. The grand finish in Saint-Malo takes place on the famous Sillon Beach 🏖️ for 3 km of racing before the sprint to the finish 🚀. This will be a great chance to discover the city walls. It’s a finish that suits most runners, with a rolling course 🛼 perfect for aiming for a personal best 👌.
And since Bretons do nothing halfway, you’ll participate, with your bib, in a draw to win a travel voucher ✈️. Also, make sure to take advantage of the stay in the area while you’re there! While you’re in the neighborhood, be sure to check out the little treasures you might not have had time to see during your half marathon. We’re thinking of the Grand-Bé, the Memorial 39-45 or the Tour Solidor 👍. Otherwise, you can reverse the route: Saint-Malo ➡️ Cancale, just to savor the famous oysters 🦪 from the country of the sculpted rocks !
