Experience a major sporting date in Almaty, Kazakhstan, with this urban semi-marathon held every April. A non-turn, flat central course, perfect for running past iconic monuments, in the company of over 10,000 participants from 20 countries. Also choose the Ekiden (6× relay), a 10 km, or a 10 km Nordic walking to discover the city from all its angles.

Yep, pack your bags, you’re heading to the "land of nomads" 🛫. In this country, the nomadic culture is widespread, and you’ll get to experience it firsthand, baskets on your feet! 👟 At the Almaty Half Marathon, you’ll discover one of the country’s biggest cities as you go along! 🏃➡️ This road race takes place in April, so get ready for some picturesque landscapes in the flowering streets 🌺 of the garden city 🌳. And you won’t be alone at the start line 🚩, because there are 10,000 participants from more than 20 countries 🌍 who gather every year! 🗓️ The organizers aimed to popularize running in the country, and that’s a proven success! 💪 By creating the Almaty Marathon in 2012, the first major running event in Central Asia 📍, it has become an international event drawing thousands of participants from around the world, and the half marathon has followed suit! 🤩
Now that you know a little more about this event 🤓, here’s a bit more about the courses! 🛣️ There won’t be only one half marathon on the program ☝️. You can also opt to do it in Ekiden format (6-person relay) 🤝, run a 10 km, or try a Nordic walk of 10 km 🥾. The routes will guide you through central Almaty. Just like on a guided tour 🚌, you’ll pass by the Park of the First President and other must-see monuments 🏛️. And the cherry on top! 🍒 The courses feature no turns and no elevation, so you’ll be able to go full steam ahead! 🚀
