In March, the Athens Half Marathon invites you to Greece’s capital for its 14th edition, with nearly 25,000 participants and the Greek Half Marathon Championships. An urban course blending modernity and tradition, between 40 monuments and the historic center, over 21.097 km (or 5 km). After the race, culture and discoveries around the Acropolis, Pláka, and the National Garden.
Want to train and get a sneak peek of the Athens Marathon? 🤔 Great timing, because in March, it’s the Athens Half Marathon that awaits! 😉 For its 14th edition, the spectacular capital city of Greece is ready to welcome its roughly 25,000 participants! 💪 Yes, yes, even though the race isn’t as famous as its big brother, the marathon, the event still draws a substantial crowd ☝️. And the Athens Half Marathon has become so important that this year it serves as the Greek Half Marathon Championships ! 🏆 An honorary title proving the quality of its route 🧑🎓. Indeed, it’s no small feat, and you’ll quickly realize it! 😎
"Count, you will, but not on your fingers! 🤓". This saying fits here very well, as there will be 40 monuments along your path 😂. Forty, the monuments recounting the history of the city of Athens will cradle your run 📖. Between modernity and tradition, you won’t be able to miss the heritage of ancient civilization and the fast pace of urban life today 🏙️. So you’ll pass right through it! 😝 In a charged atmosphere, the course will take you through the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier 🔥, the Byzantine and Christian Museumas well as the grand avenues of the center 🛣️. And that’s the detail you’ll want to remember! Even though the race takes place in the historic center, it won’t impact your time ⏱️. You’ll even get to, like Hercules, unleash Pegasus on the asphalt 🦄and thus gain a few seconds on your PR! If you’re not feeling up to the 21.097 km, you can always switch to the 5 km, just as mythical 🗿. And because kids also love myth, a "Family Run" will make them happy! 🥰
But that’s not all, because we’ve also thought about your post-race! 🤗 Take advantage of a unique opportunity to enrich yourself after the challenge 🧠.
