From late April, discover an Athenian race that runs along the Faliro Bay and passes by the Flisvou port, the National Opera, and the Ilisos River, offering a view of the capital under the sun. With varied distances (from 1 to 2 km charity, 5 km, 10 km and the half marathon), everyone can aim for their personal best while enjoying the Aegean Sea. At the finish, explore the Acropolis, Pláka, and Cape Sounion to extend the Greek experience.
You may already know the Athens Half Marathon, but do you know the Athens Poseidon Half Marathon ? 🤔 Don't panic, we're here to introduce you to this athenian race, as proud as a Greek God ! ⚡ At the end of April, you’ll head to Athens and the Piraeus Bay. Between the Port of Piraeus, the National Opera and the Ilisos River, you’ll discover the Greek capital from a different angle 📐. Yes, this is not for nothing that the race carries the name of Poseidon, because you’ll be closest to the water 🌊. Rest assured, you’re not signing up for a triathlon! 🏊♂️ You’ll admire the sea from the quays, with your eyes full while staying dry... 🤩 Well, maybe not entirely, because you’re likely to sweat a lot! 🥵
"Go all in on the Poseidon Half Marathon" 🚀. How so? You don’t know this Greek saying? 🤯 It’s about time you learned, because here you can chase a personal best! ⏱️ With several distances to choose from, you won’t have a dull moment! Recreational runners, as well as performance-seeking athletes 💪, everyone will find a race to fit their shoes (or their trident, if your name is Poseidon 🔱). From kids’ races to a charity 1 to 2 km, up to 5 km and 10 km on road, to the prestigious Half Marathon 🏆, you’ll have the chance to run along the shores of the Aegean Sea, and all under the sun! 🌞 Because Greece without sun isn’t really Greece! It will be necessary to bring out the suncream if you don’t want to resemble the little shrimps you’ll meet in the sand 🦐.
By the way, after you cross the finish line 🏁, you can enjoy the beach with your feet up! 👣 We all know recovery is the most important thing! 💆♀️ So after pushing yourself during the race, why not also explore all the historical and cultural wonders of the Greek capital? 🤓 Visit the Acropolis and its museum for a dive into Antiquity 📖, or wander through the picturesque Pláka neighborhood 🏘️, with its narrow streets and local tavernas 🍽️.
