In the heart of the Jelenia Góra valley, the events start from Piastowski Square in Cieplice-Zdrój and pass through Jelenia Góra, Podgórzyn and Staniszów, with panoramas of the Giant Mountains. Choose the 5 km, the 10 km, or the kids’ formats, then enjoy active recovery at the Cieplice Spa. A sports weekend under the banner of the Lower Silesia Half Marathon Crown.
It’s a true running festival waiting for you in the heart of the Jelenia Góra valley! The flagship events kick off on Sunday from Place Piastowski in Cieplice-Zdrój, the oldest spa town in Poland. The course, approved by the federation, passes through Jelenia Góra, Podgórzyn, and Staniszów. Beyond the athletic challenge, you’ll be treated to spectacular views of the snowy peaks of the Giants Mountains (Karkonosze) 🏔️. If the half marathon feels a bit too tough, you can opt for the 10 km. Saturday, meanwhile, shines with shorter formats: the 5 km, the thermal mile, or kid-focused races 🏃♂️.
After giving it your all, Jelenia Góra and Cieplice are the perfect playground for an “active recovery”:
Cieplice Thermal Baths: Nothing soothes tired muscles like the warmth of the thermal waters. It’s the must-do after crossing the finish line ♨️.
Chojnik Castle: If you’ve still got some energy left in your legs, climb to the ruins of this castle perched in Sobieszów. From the tower, the view over the entire valley is simply breathtaking 🏰.
Zdrojowy Park and Norwegian: The perfect duo for a relaxed stroll to ease the tension, shaded by centuries-old trees and amid stunning spa architecture 🌲.
Jelenia Góra Marketplace : Stop by the Town Hall for the traditional souvenir photo with the famous deer sculpture, then take a seat on a terrace in one of the arcaded cafes ☕.
