Welcome to San Sebastián for the San Sebastián Half Marathon in April. Identical 21 km or 10 km routes offering views of La Concha Beach and the seafront, in the heart of the historic center and Zurriola beaches. The course features an elite podium and promises a postcard-perfect backdrop, ideal for beating your personal record while savoring the Basque Country.
Ongi etorri to San Sebastián! 😎 The sun, the blue sky, birds singing 🐦 and the sound of the waves crashing on the beach... 🌊 No, no, you’re not dreaming, you’re about to start the San Sebastian Half Marathon ! 🏃➡️ In the month of April, this charming city nestled in the heart of the enchanting Basque Country in Spain 🇪🇸, opens its arms wide 🥰. Given the still cool temperatures of early the spring 🌸, you’re not likely to dive headlong into the Mediterranean Sea. Nevertheless, nothing will stop you from going all out to chase a personal best on this wonderfully rolling course 🏎️. Even Fernando Alonso is jealous 😳.
Over 21 km or over 10 km, the route will be the same, so you won’t risk wandering off track! Concha Beach 🐚, seaside, old town, historic center ⛪ or even Zurriola Beach... 🏖️ The course is worthy of a true postcard setting ! 🖼️ The Media Maratón de San Sebastián is one of the fastest half-marathons in the country and brings together a high-quality elite field 💪. But don’t panic! If your motto is more relaxation than competitiveness, you’ll be just as at home 😌. It would still be a shame not to enjoy this stunning panorama over the harbor 🚤 and the most beautiful beaches of the Basque Country ! 🤩 Just don’t be tempted to stop on the beach to sunbathe 😆. But for that, we trust you, we know you’ll wait for the end of the race to shine your medal in the sun ! 🏅
By the way, what do we do after the race? 🤔 When you’ve proudly celebrated your victory, it would be a waste not to extend the weekend joy with the Basques 🥳. In addition to savoring their top-notch gastronomy (you never refuse a pintxo 😋) and their ice-cold beer we recommend taking a break for a leg stretch 🦵 by strolling through San Sebastian and exploring its surroundings! 🗺️ You can brush the sand of the famous Concha Beach that you admired during your race ⏳. And to learn a bit more about the Pays Basque, you can go admire the spectacular architecture of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, about an hour’s drive 🚗 away or hike up the Mont Igueldo ⛰️ for breathtaking panoramic views 🌄. If San Sebastian has charmed you, then you should visit the charming towns of Getaria and Hondarribia, rich in culture and history 🤓.
