Between the valleys of the Douro and UNESCO World Heritage, Peso da Régua hosts the 18th edition of the Douro Vinhateiro Semi-Marathon. Trek along the banks of the Douro and the vineyards of the Alto Douro Vinhateiro with 3 routes: 6 km walk, Mini-Marathon 6 km, and Semi-Marathon to push your limits. Iconic landscapes like the Bagaúste dam punctuate the event before enjoying the local wines and the Douro.
The end of May 🌼, is the moment when we all crave a little vacation 💤. But why not combine a new athletic challenge with a UNESCO World Heritage destination? 🤩 The Douro Vinhateiro Half Marathon is the perfect combo for that! You’ll be immersed in the heart of Vila Real District, Portugal 📍. For its 18th edition, the most beautiful race in the world (so they say) is back 🍽️ and opens its doors again to runners road runners in a unique natural setting! The Haut Douro Vinhateiro, with its rivers and its vineyard slopes 🍷 might even persuade you to slow down and enjoy the course longer 😝.
Along the beautiful Douro riverside 🏞️, you’ll traverse the vineyards characteristic of this region of the Portugal 🍇. For the race routes, the organizers spared nothing, as you’ll have a choice between 3 events: a charity walk of 6 km non-timed for strollers and the big-hearted 🥰, a Mini-Marathon of 6 km for beginners in the discipline and finally the Semi-Marathon for those looking to push their limits! 💪 And your limits, the Douro Vinhateiro Half Marathon will put them to the test 🥵. We’re not talking about challenging your physical strength here, but rather your focus! 🧠 We challenge you not to succumb to the charm of these valleys ⛰️ without stumbling or losing a few seconds on your target time 😅. You’ll pass by iconic places like the Bagaúste Dam and the town of Peso da Régua 🏘️. And in 2025, the Meia Maratona do Douro Vinhateiro (its full name), opens up to wheelchair users 🧑🦽➡️ to make this event one of the best wheelchair half marathons in the country! 🤯 So many good news for this race that will take you on a journey from start to finish! 🧳
