In Saint-André-des-Eaux, Pays de la Loire, the Brière Half Marathon takes place at the heart of the Brière Regional Nature Park. A popular race in the Pays de la Loire, it’s the kind of event that every Finisher prides themselves on! In March, when spring asserts itself, Saint-André-des-Eaux in the Loire-Atlantique becomes the stage for the Brière Half Marathon. Come on, we’ll have a great marsh time! 😂
The Brière Marshes, right in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional offer an ideal setting for this road race created in 1970 🌿. Its scenery is perfect for an event that brings together thousands of participants each year. On the program: a 5 km and a half marathon to be completed solo or in a duo. Your Brière half marathon will take you on a loop of about 10 km twice, starting and finishing on Rue des Marais and extending to the west and north of Saint-Andrés-des-Eaux. A Nordic walking of 10km is also offered. And if you’re not in the water, you’ll tread long roads such as Chatelier, Kerméans, and La Carioterie, and you’ll pass through the village of Bilac known for its bowling. At the end of the loop, you’ll cross the Haut-Marland and Marland. You’ll see, you’ll have a lot of fun on the very smooth course surrounded by greenery. Plus, it’s the perfect time to clear your mind in a place with impressive biodiversity, and that’s no exaggeration! 😍
For after the race, you can explore the indivisible marshes of Grande Brière Mottière for a bucolic stroll. We also recommend the famous salt marshes of Guérande and the Barrière International Golf of La Baule, a superb spot ⛳. Finally, treat your taste buds to sardines and anchovies from La Turballe, lightly seasoned with Guérande salt on a slice of country bread—simple, yet absolutely divine! 🍴
