Set off to discover the Pays de la Loire with a loop starting from Place Notre Dame for the Beaufort Semi-Marathon, on roads and trails around Beaufort-en-Vallée. Choose your challenge among 5 km, 10 km, 21 km, or 11 km Nordic walking, in a lush setting along the banks of the Le Couesnon river and the surrounding forests. Guaranteed atmosphere and discoveries of the castles and landscapes of the Pays de la Loire.
Lovers of old stones and nature, you’re invited to discover the Pays de la Loire for a wonderfully beautiful trail.
Head toward Beaufort-en-Vallée in the Maine-et-Loire under the mild autumn temperatures of early October 🍂 . And to fully enjoy this road race, choose the distance that won’t make you look or feel mighty, but the one where your feet will sense the Beaufort! Which of the 5 km, 10 km or 21 km will make you feel the strongest? It’s your call, and if walking is enough for you, the 11 km of Nordic walking are there for you.
Wake up on the right foot because the course is worth the detour. In the Beaufort Half Marathon, you’ll complete a loop starting from Place Notre Dame in front of the very beautiful Notre Dame church (naturally!). And off we go for the show on the roads of the towns of Gée and Mazé with lush green landscapes 🌿! You’ll first follow the Le Couesnon river, then cross small bridges and traverse forests and woods nearby. You’ll glimpse, through the fields, the ruins of the Beaufort castle 🏰, and there’s no chance it’s hidden by tall grasses—it's the tall one 😅 . Your strides will lead you toward Montgeoffroy Castle de Montmirail, one of the event’s highlights that contributes to its reputation. When you see it you’ll think, "It’s Okayyyy", even if it’s handsome, no risk of confusing it with a Fort... 😂 And to close the loop, returning to cheese at the village, you’ll say "where are the poulardes, I’m hungry!".
And you won’t be able to say it better because you’re in the region of the poularde à l'angevine 🍗 ! But before you think about filling your belly, we’re happy to announce that throughout your race the atmosphere will be high-energy so if you want to contribute, run in costume ! Cherry on the castle, once you cross the finish line and for your pleasure and, let’s admit it, everyone else’s, showers will be at your disposal. Now to the table ! As for your digestion you’ll be able to go admire the forests of the Maine-et-Loire and the châteaux of the Pays de la Loire, a program full of discoveries!
