Whether you have the sound of the waves or your running playlist in your ears, join the Semi-Marathon des Olonnes in Vendée for a superb seaside road race. In the mild May temperatures ☀️, you’ll kick off a historic race in the Pays de la Loire, and that’s no nonsense. It was created in 1992, the same year as the Disneyland Paris park, can you imagine? Climb aboard for a spin toward the Sables d'Olonne for a high-quality iodized run!

Surprise, the Semi-Marathon des Olonnes offers not one but two distances: 10 km and 21 km! Here we go, get on the wagon of a race with diverse scenery by doing several laps to soak up every detail of the course (you have to become a regular of the place). To complete the loop, you’ll pass by Le Remblai des Sables d’Olonne along the sea while admiring the iconic green lighthouse of the jetty (it leans like the Leaning Tower of Pisa but there’s no danger of confusing them) ... 😅 You’ll also run along the Lac de Tanchet, Schwabach Square, Rudelière Stadium and the brutal cliffs of the "puits d’enfer". The view promises to be stunning! 💣

After the race, if you want to feel a little more alone even though You know you're not alone, take a closer look at the green lighthouse on the jetty, where the famous Vendée Globe ⛵. Then, take a detour through the Penotte Island neighborhoodyou’ll see many houses with creative walls decorated in mosaics or shells, it’s gorgeous! And if you’re a little hungry, the Vendée gache, it’s just amazing 😋.
