In Nuits-Saint-Georges, discover a half marathon in the heart of the Bourgogne vineyards, organized as part of the wine sale of the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges in March. Two distances are on offer: 10 km or half marathon, with a course alternating roads and trails and local-color aid stations. You will pass through iconic sites such as the Clos de Vougeot and Vosne-Romanée, surrounded by entertainment and the horn calls of the Knights of the Tastevin. At the finish, a bottle of Burgundy awaits you.

The wine auction half-marathon in Nuits-Saint-Georges takes place in March in the commune of the same name: Nuits-Saint-Georges in Côte-d’Or! The weather in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté at this time of year can be a bit capricious with a few raindrops, but one thing is certain: it’ll be chilly. Don’t worry, you’ll have something to warm you up on site. Not thanks to the fabulous nectar 🍷 offered throughout the day (Heads up: it may be Nuisible 😁 for health), but with the races on offer.
Two distances are on the program: the 10 km or, if you’re in good shape, you can go for the half-marathon. No matter your choice, the village will be celebrating for the weekend of the wine auction. You’ll also be able to enjoy the activities if you decide to stay a few days. But before we all get into the rhythm of Nuits-Saint-Georges, you’ll need to push yourself. After a start in the village streets, the course track offers a mix of road and flat trails. It’s going to roll! Don’t go too fast, Finisher; take time to admire the vineyard and the Clos de Vougeot château 🏰 into which you’ll pass. At the entrance of the castle, home to the confraternity of the Chevaliers du Tastevin ⚔️, you will hear the hunting horns ring out as tradition dictates. It’s their way of greeting you. The Nuits-Saint-Georges Half Marathon will lead you through the vineyards of Burgundy 🍇 and show you the most beautiful places of creation of the most famous crus such as Vosne-Romanée or the Clos de Vougeot. All of this in a festive atmosphere with music and local-flavored refreshments: wine tastings on the horizon.
If you’re feeling seized by the event’s fever, don your best costume 🦸🏻♂️. You could win a small prize but, costume or not, a bottle of Burgundy will be yours for finishing the race. We’re growing to love Nuits more and more! And feel free to embellish your bottle with some snails and gingerbread, local specialties that are unmissable. When it’s good, it pairs with everything.
