Les participants qui souhaitent relever un défi supplémentaire peuvent s'inscrire au Riggie Challenge, où les athlètes s'arrêtent à mi-parcours pour reprendre des forces avec un plat local avant de reprendre la course. Le Riggie Run, Walk & Riggiefest combine une compétition sportive et un concours culinaire mettant en valeur les saveurs locales, ce qui en fait un défi unique en son genre.
