It’s, indeed, a nocturnal 🌒 that we invite you to tonight: the Saint Jean by Night! 💫 As the name suggests, this race will let you discover at night the commune of Saint-Jean-sur-Veyle, in the Ain, in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes. Ah! You didn’t expect that, right? 😅 Well, now that you’ve recovered from the shock 💥, it’s time to reveal the distances you’ll face ➡️ a 6 km, a 12 km and a 16 km.

For the 8th anniversary of this race, we take you to Saint-Jean-sur-Veyle, a small town just a few strides from Mâcon and the Monts d’Or. Wait, not so fast! ✋ The race will take place in April, while the nights will begin to shorten 🌄, as spring 🌸 starts to show its nose 👃 and temperatures will be more mild… Or not! 😂 Indeed, last edition was marked by capricious weather 😬. So, here’s a tip: prepare for every possibility and bring a windbreaker, a raincoat and a light sweater, just in case 😉. That said, it’s time to introduce the courses you can tackle, their distance, elevation, and features 👇.

You have the choice between the SJBN Blue 💙 (6 km), the SJBN Red ❤️ (12 km) and the SJBN XL Black 🖤 (16 km). Wonderful, isn’t it? 😍 These distances are extremely accessible 🏃. They’ll let you ease back into the spirit of trail after a long, tough winter ❄️ (and some hefty fondues 🫕)! The elevation gains aren’t scary either, at 50 mD+, 113mD+ and 104 mD+. So you’ve been warned: the difficulty won’t be in the terrain 🙅‍♀️. On the other hand, what could prove challenging (especially if you’re not used to the sport) is the nocturnal aspect of the race. Let’s be honest, we’re not owls 🦉 and it’s neither easy nor usual to navigate in the nature at night 😏. That said, if some people do it, it’s because they find a certain pleasure! 🥰 Indeed, the night forest takes on a whole new aspect and plunges you into an unreal vibe 😯. The serpent of light 🌌, created by headlamps, also offers rare and incredible landscapes ✨. The smells, the sounds and the race are completely different. Believe us, it’s an experience any true trail runner should live in a lifetime! ❤️ So, if you’re going to try, why not do it on a distance that’s approachable? 😜

We’re sure you won’t regret listening to us! 👂 Just as we’re sure you’ll love filling your belly 🫄 after your race with the burgers buffet 🍔 planned by the organizers 😋 . You’ll then have to show us a very different talent than your running prowess: dancing ! 🕺 Yes, a proper vibe awaits at the finish line, where spectators will applaud you 👏 and you’ll start the party 🥳. After that, you can enjoy the musical performances 🎷 and the prize ceremony 🏆. The human-scale event is as friendly as it is convivial 🙌. You can’t miss that!
