Brace yourself, because we’re serving up a foooolie 🤪 adventure. Located in the Dumfries and Galloway, south of the Scotland, the South Scotland Outdoor Festival isn’t just a Sunday stroll, it’s a pilgrimage for adventurers’ souls 🧭. Here, we settle in for a full weekend in June at the foot of a 17th-century castle 🏰. If you feel like you’re in an episode of Outlander, that’s normal: the site has served as a backdrop for the series 🐎. You’ll find yourself at the Drumlanrig Castle for an event that blends running, road cycling, and gravel in a festival vibe 🎉.

On the program, several events 📆. First up are the trail runs. To loosen up, the 5 km stays safely in the castle gardens, ideal for taking in the estate air without ending up on your knees 💨. Want more, the 10 km goes under the canopy of private forests 🌲. But the true judge of peace remains the 21 km: a demanding trail weaving between parks and hills 🌀. You’ll feel a bit like a Highlander on the run, breath short but eyes on the horizon ⚔️. If you prefer speed, the gravel routes let you stay on trail but hands on the bars! 🚵 Between the 21 km discovery, the 50 km already serious and the iconic 100 km, you’ll delve into hidden corners and rugged paths of Scotland 🤫. It’s wild, it’s raw, and it’s above all a true piece of freedom 🚵. "And what about the road?" Don’t panic, we’re getting there! 🤠 The Road Sportive takes you on a rhythmic loop of 62 km (480 mD+) or the grand challenge of 112 km (1 200 mD+) 🚴. You’ll have to tame the col de Mennock 📈. With its dramatic contours and a climb that’ll test you, it’s one of the country’s most spectacular passages ⛰️. And for the kids, kids’ races are organized so everyone can join! 🤓

But don’t pack away your gear too early: your bib is a pass "All Access" for the event village📍. When the effort ends, you slip into a world of sharing 🤝. A ton of activities are on offer, like film screenings, talks, inspiring stories from Mark Beaumont, the Maclean brothers or Elise Downing 😍. In the evening, the estate shifts to a different vibe with electro-folk tunes from Valtos ⚡️. There, you’ll swap running for a high-energy dance session 🕺. You can sleep at the festival campsite, try wellness activities wellness and let the kids loose at the Adventure Playground 🧒. We promise you’ll leave with a cloud on your head, almost tempted to move to Scotland, wear a kilt, and take up the bagpipes 😂.
