In Beauvoir-sur-Mer, the Foulées du Gois invite you to run along the Gois Passage, a seaside route surrounded by water, during low tide. This unusual race offers 8 km in 100% women’s, men’s or disabled sports categories, and the famous Race against the Sea where 35 professional athletes can even run in the water. The higher the tide coefficient, the faster the tide will rise, adding a challenge to this unique encounter between sand and sea.
"Goiser" means “to walk with wet feet” in Vendéean... So that says it all!
In addition to running along the seaside, finally testing yourself against the tide 🌊. The Gois Passage, located in Beauvoir-sur-Mer in Vendée, reveals itself at low tide. So come run on the water in June, the ocean is waiting for you!
Even if the clock isn’t your goal, you’ll be racing the rising tide no matter what during this unusual race. So launch yourself in a 100% women’s or a handisport race over 8 km (a round trip on the passage). The flagship event is the "Course contre la mer", a race featuring 35 professional athletes who will literally run in the water! As for you, stay alert because the higher the tidal coefficient, the faster the tide will rise. So sprint if you don’t want to go goiser 🦵! (Don’t worry, you’ll only have toes soaked, no need for a dive suit)
If you’re a less confident swimmer, you can instead dive into the culture of this wonderful place, which for years has been the only link between the island of Noirmoutier and the mainland.
So it’s between sand and sea that you’ll leave with magical memories! Also know that everyone can follow your exploits. Yes, the oyster farmers 🦪 make their crates available to media to follow live and in pictures 📹 the runners’ battle against the rising tide.
