Ecology lovers and pristine panoramas, the Trail des Calanques in Marseille in February opens the calanques for a mythical race since 1985. Three distances suited for everyone: 19 km Sport (1000 mD+), 36 km Elite (2000 mD+), and 56 km Expert (3000 mD+), the latter qualifying for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc. Start at Luminy and finish at Parc Pastré, with a strong environmental commitment and zero waste.
Lovers of ecology and of well-preserved panoramas, the Trail des Calanques is made for you! In February, when sun and the mistral duel, Marseille opens wide its protected domain for this mythical race, and has been doing so since 1985! 🏃♂️
Les calanques de Marseille, it's always a rediscovery. Depending on the seasons, the climate, and the light, every hiking outing provides a fresh eye on these incomparable landscapes. For this event which offers the FFA label, 3 distances are available to participants to suit everyone. The 'Sport' course of 19 km has a positive elevation gain of 1000 mD+. The 'Elite' course covers 36 km with 2000 mD+. Finally, the 'Expert' course covers 56 km with 3000 mD+ and is a qualifier for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc. Tough stuff indeed! 💪
First leg of the Alpi Trail Tour, the Trail des Calanques, whose start will be given at Luminy, will let you climb through technical passages to enjoy a sublime view over the Great Blue Sea, over Marseille as well as over the surrounding mountain ranges such as the Étoile, the Garlaban, the Sainte-Baume, the Sainte-Victoire, the Luberon ⛰️. The finish takes place at the Parc Pastré, between the districts of La Pointe Rouge and Les Goudes, two iconic spots of the Phocaean City. Thanks to volunteers, the race guarantees a commitment to the environment. The number of bibs issued is limited, there is no waste and no goodies. ♻️
To refuel, in the South nothing beats a good bouillabaisse, a seafood specialty 🐟. You can also treat yourself to an anchoïade as a starter. Finally, you must taste the navettes before discovering the Panier district and the MUCEM!
The Trail des Calanques is even better than a match at the Velodrome.
