Trail du Roc de la Lune

The Roc de la Lune Trail is a mythical Gard (region) race — but above all a highly technical one ⚠️ — that lets you discover the northeast of Occitanie, near the town of d'Alzon. Straddling the Parc Naturel Régional des Grands Causses and the Parc National des Cévennes, a real challenge awaits you! 🤜🤛

In total, five distances are offered: if you’re a trail expert, in top physical shape and feel ready to reach for the moon, then the flagship event of the Ultra of the Pas du Diable is made for you! But beware, you’ll probably have a tough time: 120 km on the agenda including 6 500 mD+ 🥵! We also offer the Saint-Guiral, shorter (89 km) also available in Wildinism version. If you’re not as wild as these extreme athletes (whom we obviously admire!), then opt for the Roc de la Lune Trail (35 km) or l’Alzonaise X (100% female) and l’Alzonaise Y (100% male) which run over a distance of 12 km. There’s something for everyone! 🏃🏃‍♀️

Regarding the course, be sure to gear up properly and prepare yourself because the route is very demanding. Many technical sections (steep rock faces, tight passages...) will be on your path and slow your progress. Yet, the scenery is exceptional, especially at the summit of Saint-Guiral rock which offers an unobstructed view over the Parc National des Cévennes and its wooded cover of green oaks or large pine plantations as well as over the Gorges de la Dourbie with its caves and cliffs. Take the chance to be atop one of the region’s high points to admire the Grands Causses (Le Causse Noir, Larzac and Méjean), its canyons and arid plateaus. Sublime, right? When you’ve had your fill of views, remember there’s still a final trail to complete, and depending on the distance you chose, it’s far from finished ⏱! For those who fear nothing, know that you can complete the race of the Ultra of the Pas du Diable and St-Guiral with the Wildinism packageWildinism. This package states that the race is run without assistance and without resupply (only liquid resupply allowed, with the option to refuel in the villages along the route) and all this for a more autonomous and environmentally responsible approach! ♻️. Nothing stops you from returning to these same shops after your race to stock up on real local products, what could be better than a Cevenol pâté or cheese with a good glass of Savignon ?
