Le Strathpuffer 24 met les vététistes à l’épreuve lors d’un test d’endurance épique dans les Highlands écossais, près de Strathpeffer et de Contin. Considérée comme l’une des courses de VTT les plus difficiles au monde, elle confronte les athlètes à un parcours technique implacable de 12,5 km à travers la forêt de Contin. Cette boucle exige concentration et maîtrise, avec ses montées exigeantes, ses descentes délicates et son terrain varié. Les concurrents doivent affronter des conditions hivernales extrêmes — températures négatives, brouillard glacial, vents violents, grêle et neige — qui repoussent leurs limites physiques et mentales. Ils passent jusqu’à 17 heures à rouler dans l’obscurité, ce qui nécessite des systèmes d’éclairage performants et une concentration accrue. Après avoir surmonté les racines glissantes, la boue profonde et la fatigue, terminer le Strathpuffer est considéré comme un symbole de courage et de résilience parmi les cyclistes d’endurance.
