La course de 24 heures « Stubborn Spirits », qui se déroule à Weldon, dans le comté d’Halifax, célèbre la fin de la prohibition sur le sentier historique du canal de Roanoke. Organisé en collaboration avec la distillerie Weldon Mills, cet événement propose aux participants plusieurs formules de course. Les coureurs qui viendront à bout du défi des 100 miles se verront remettre une boucle de ceinture spécialement conçue pour l’occasion. Tous les participants qui franchiront la ligne d’arrivée recevront une médaille.
