This varied trail takes place in March in Valhuon, in Hauts-de-France, and pays tribute to David, a passionate runner. Yes, this is a somewhat special race we’re offering here. It was created for David, who tragically passed away on the return road from the Touquet Trail D2B. He was passionate about running, a member of the Bruay-la-Buissière Athletics Club and he regularly took part in world-renowned races. We run to remember him and share his passion, his good humor, and his love of life. That’s why this trail is open to everyone: kids and adults, families, friends, beginners and seasoned runners.
There are 4 distances on the program: a 10 km option that can be completed during a Nordic walk or a trail, a 20 km walk, and a 20 km trail. The setting is pastoral, with no steep elevations, no towering mountains, and many paved paths, but with vast spaces that breathe tranquility. You will traverse pastures and meadows, some woods like the one at d’Hernicourt and des Cléreaux and run along the river “la Ternoise. Some sections pass through wide fields filled with wind turbines but are still quite unique: you’ll feel small!
Besides the races, the region is full of natural curiosities with the Caps and Opal Marshes Regional Natural Park, which highlight the natural and cultural heritage of the area. You can also enjoy the seaside for a stroll and savor delicious crustaceans. 🐚
