Le Thames Trail Ultra est un ultra-marathon réputé de 75 km qui suit le tracé du plus long fleuve d'Angleterre. Anciennement connu sous le nom de Thames Trot, cet événement difficile mais pittoresque est devenu un rendez-vous incontournable du calendrier des ultra-marathons britanniques. Le parcours alterne entre chemins goudronnés, chemins de halage et sentiers boueux, offrant aux participants un voyage dynamique et immersif le long de la Tamise. Partant près d'Oxford et arrivant à Henley-on-Thames, les coureurs traverseront des écluses historiques, des villes charmantes et des villages riverains, tout en bénéficiant du soutien d'une équipe bien organisée et de bénévoles enthousiastes. À partir de 2024, la course se terminera au YMCA Y Centre de Henley, où les participants pourront profiter de douches, de repas chauds, de boissons et de vestiaires, un réconfort bienvenu après 75 km de course à pied. L'événement fait également partie de l'Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB) Index, qui permet aux concurrents de gagner des points en vue d'une qualification future.
