THE ROC England, une course d'endurance éprouvante de 112 km en cinq étapes à travers le Lake District. L'épreuve débute par une épreuve de natation en eau libre de 1,5 km à Windermere, avec un départ depuis le YMCA Lakeside. Les concurrents s’attaquent ensuite à une épreuve de vélo de route de 46,5 km qui longe le lac Coniston Water et s’enfonce profondément dans les collines du Lake District. Le clou de la course est une course à pied de 18 km sur sentier de montagne, avec ascension et descente du Scafell Pike — le plus haut sommet d’Angleterre —, qui exige à la fois force et endurance sur un terrain accidenté. L’étape de retour à vélo, longue de 45,5 km, retrace le parcours vallonné dans le sens inverse, avant une dernière course à pied de 1 km sur sentier forestier jusqu’à l’arrivée. Les athlètes doivent venir à bout d’un dénivelé positif total de 6 916 pieds au cœur de paysages spectaculaires, faisant de cette épreuve un test ultime d’endurance, de polyvalence et de force mentale au sein de l’un des sites d’aventure les plus prestigieux d’Europe.
