Foulée Verte de Clamart

The race is on and green! 💚

Headed to the Île-de-France for the Green Stride of Clamart, a rendezvous in Clamart that smells of the humus 🌲 (and not the hummus, haha 😂). The event lasts all day in May and offers a total of 4 events to satisfy the whole tribe 🏃. The course instantly plunges you into the heart of the measured forest areas of Clamart and Meudon 🍃. This forest was once the favorite hunting ground of the kings of France, notably Louis XIV who had wide avenues built for his coaches 🐎.

The main highlight is the trail of 18 km with its 350 mD+, perfect to test your legs on a terrain rich in history 📈. There is also a 10 km and 200 mD+, a 5 km with 100 mD+ and a free 1.5 km race for the youngest athletes 🏅. This year, the route includes an exceptional passage inside the Hangar Y 🏭. This site is iconic in Meudon as it’s an old airship hangar built in 1878 🚀. A true cathedral of steel, this place now celebrates heritage and creates a unique cultural space 🎨. Alongside that, the course takes you into the heart of the Meudon forest 🌳. It should be noted that the soil here is made up of meulièrea sedimentary rock once used to make millstones across the region ⚙️. Get ready for a mix of wide avenues and techier trails where roots demand vigilance 🧐. There is also a kids’ race designed for the whole family 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒.

Beyond the purely athletic aspect, the Green Stride will give you a chance to explore the region’s wonders 🔎. For a fun fact, the Meudon forest also houses the Observatoire de Paris, as it was one of the few high and secluded spots for stargazing in the 19th century 🌌. We also recommend a detour to the Potager du Dauphin, a former royal farm transformed into a cultural center 🤴. If you still have energy, the city parks offer great playgrounds for kids 🧒. It’s a chance to discover a hidden natural heritage just a stone’s throw from the capital 🏰.
