Trail du Cassoulet

It’s time for the cassoulet 🍽️ ! Not just yet though. If you’re heading to Verfeuil in Occitanie, it’s also to savor the Trail du Cassoulet. The event takes place in October under pleasantly very comfortable conditions in the South 😎. But watch out: showers are to be expected! Don’t turn into a “ saucisse-mouillée ”, a species not far from the drenched chicken.

The Trail du Cassoulet, it’s much more than a simple trail; the event offers several ways to explore the Haute-Garonne. Indeed, the program includes trails of 12km, 21km and 42km. But that’s not all! You can join a Nordic walking option and a hike of 12km. And if you want to run with your dog, you can wander with your best friend on the Cani Cross and the long Cani Walk of 9km. For the 3 trails, pick your favorite! Once decided, go for it! This race blends paths and roads. So there’s no time to fall asleep because the surroundings will move between lush forests 🌲 and local villages, where you’ll meet a few bystanders ! Many unusual sections are also planned with bridge crossings and a tunnel passage. Plenty of variety. Further along the course, you’ll follow the Lac de la Balerme, you’ll wander through nearby villages and will trot up to the Lac du Laragou. But the standout feature of this race is its aid stations. On the menu: saucisse de Toulouse and Fronton wine 🍷. This gastronomic stop is located near the Château de Bon Repos. Top chef in a top trail !

Once your journey ends, the day isn’t over yet. You’ll share a friendly meal with a band to light things up 📯. On the plate, of course, a cassoulet but also a rustic buffet with beers to wash it all down. And if you dared wearing a costume during the race, you’ll even earn a bottle of wine as a reward.
