The Amethyst Trail in Sauxillanges, in the heart of the Puy-de-Dôme and near the Livradois-Forez Regional Natural Park, offers four attractive formats: 12, 23 and 37 km of trails and 13 km of walking. Technical and playful trails invite you to discover the spring nature and the panoramas of the Livradois, with local biodiversity to observe along the course. For young and old, the edition also features free races for children, making the event very family-friendly.

Sauxillanges, in the department of the Puy-de-Dôme, in the heart of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, welcomes you under the gentle temperatures 🌡️ in the month of May 🌤️. At the edge of the Parc naturel régional Livradois-Forez, dive into a setting that is exotic and invigorating 🌳. It’s open to all physical conditions and you can choose among three trails of 12 km, 23 km and 37 km as well as a 13 km walk. 🚶🏼♂️
À travers des sentiers techniques 🤓 et ludiques 😝, tu auras le temps d'admirer le Pays de Sauxillanges sur une randonnée / march northique 🥾 de 13 km qui reprendra en grande partie le parcours du "Trail Découverte" de 12 km. Avec ses 450 mD+, ce tracé accessible to all est néanmoins challenging donc exigeant 😈. Take time to enjoy the sound of your steps on the "Trail Aventure" of 23 km 👟 in this spring nature 🌸, buzzing with activity, which will host no fewer than 1 140 mD+. Smell the scent of orchids and Japanese knotweed 🇯🇵 and observe otters 🦦 and badgers 🦡 wandering in the Sancy massif and the Puy-de-Dôme 🏔️. Be careful not to make too much noise on the "Trail Épopée" of 37 km 🤐, bats 🦇 rest nearby, away from the sun 🧛🏻♂️ and the 1 880 mD+! You’ll realize it, it’s a whole biodiversity buzzing around you, like the profile of the course, by the way 😅. We hope you’ll still be lucid in the heights of the Livradois that will offer you magnificent landscapes along the bois de la Valette 🌲 and the rivulets of Merlin and Favens 💦. The longer your trail, the more intense this experience 💪 will be. Finally, know that you should not rely on the average altitudes of the courses: you’ll face some climbs not so obvious 📈, but it’s well worth it! 🤩 A little bonus this 12th edition: the event returns with several free kids' races 🧒. 2 trails and 2 running races will be offered for our dear youngsters, making the Trail de l'Améthyste even more family-friendly ! 👨👩👧👦
Même si tu es déjà tombé amoureux de cette région, tu n'es pas au bout de tes découvertes 🥰. À quelques kilomètres de Clermont-Ferrand, la petite ville de Thiers est un véritable havre de paix 🧘🏼♀️. Elle est renommée pour sa coutellerie 🔪, son festival de musique 🎶 et son riche patrimoine abbatial avec l'abbaye de la Chaise-Dieu, nichée sur un promontoire de granit à plus de 1 080 m d'altitude, et l'église abbatiale Saint-Robert ⛪️.
Nature préservée 🌿, panoramas magnifiques 🖼️ et découvertes culturelles 💡 : le Trail de l’Améthyste, ce n’est pas pour les seconds couteaux ! 😉
