Do you love snow and moonlit evenings? Then the Trail Blanc des Vosges is made for you! ❄️

The organizers welcome you with joy and revelry in the Grand Est region, at Saint-Maurice-sur-Moselle, in the Vosges. This trail lives up to its name because at the end of January or early February, snow will be heavily present! Take off your Moon boots, slip on the nice shoes you got for Christmas, and head out to tread this white surface! 👟

For this trail race, starts and finishes take place in the Rouge Gazon station, on the border with Haut-Rhin. But no chance of grass to be seen, it will be hidden under a thick layer of snow. Here, three distances are offered. First, the 5 km with an elevation gain of 340mD+ which is notable for being a night race, so don't forget your headlamp that will guide you. Then, the race of 7 km will let you discover white trails with a positive elevation gain of 180mD+. Finally, the big stretch of 18 km, with an elevation gain of 595mD+. So, ready to face the elements of this altitude station?

In a landscape of pristine whiteyou’ll move between groomed trails and powder snow. You’ll tackle the climbs and descents through the pine forests covered in snow, but watch out for branches! You’ll feel like you’re in the World of Narnia as the scenery will be magical. And like in that film, you’ll rediscover your inner child as you find yourself leaping through powder or sliding down slopes on your backside 🤪, what memories! No matter the distance you cover, you’re advised to be well trained because you’ll be pushing through it, well, not too hard or your mouth might freeze. 😅

In a festive atmosphereyou’ll hear cheers from locals and volunteers along a good portion of the course. And this friendliness you’ll feel again after crossing the finish line, because to warm up after the race, there’s nothing better than a small glass of mulled wine; of course, in moderation, so you don’t end up singing “Vive le vent d’hiver” all night 🎶! Then, we’d recommend the kid in you to smear blueberries around your mouth while enjoying the famous tarte aux brimbelles local! 🤤
